Fight for life
The pro-life cause took a beating last week as Ohioans voted convincingly to approve codifying abortion into the state’s constitution through Issue 1. Senator J. D. Vance outlined a number of issues that he believes are contributing to pro-life bills being shot down, even in red states like his.
Yes, there is propaganda - many folks still have not been confronted with the horror of abortion or its affects on the mother also. They have not been told about the wonderful work pro-life organizations do to help mothers who choose to keep their babies.
Yes, there is dark money pouring into these state ballots.
Yes, Republicans need to get better at gaining public trust.
Yes, Democrats do a good job of getting people out to vote.
But his main point is this: it is clear since Dobbs sent the abortion issue back to the states that the moral argument for life has not permeated everyday America. Voters are still baulking at the idea of “heartbeat” bills, claiming them as “too extreme” and believe that “no exceptions” is too harsh. So we need to do more to convince people that an abortion is murder no matter how many weeks into the pregnancy, or what the circumstances are. Vance notes that when faced with a choice between no bans and a complete ban, voters choose the former.
There may be more losses as the fight for life is never done. At The Federalist Jordan Boyd says aiming for a 15 week federal ban is not what pro-lifers ultimately want, but it might prevent the pro-aborts from running roughshod through every legislature. A little bit of killing is still too much, but she agrees with Mr Vance, advocating for clear speech to cut through the “euphemistic calls for ‘reproductive rights’” is the ground game we need, as the leviathan of legislature twists itself back and forth.
The cult of death has clearly done a good job of convincing people that there are no victims in an abortion. While the child is never mentioned in the “pro-choice” propaganda, their childish rhetoric says “If you don’t like abortion, you don’t have to have one. But don’t get in the way of others who do.” Isn’t that just live and let live? But they overlook the fact that the repercussions of allowing this horror in our midst is detrimental to everyone.
But as Rev. Fisk has noted in the past, the blood of the unborn cries out as judgement against our nation and no good can come of a people that sacrifices its children. Abortion kills children. Abortion hurts mothers and fathers. Abortion is destructive to society. We need to keep making that case.
